JJ KANE'S STRONG MUSICAL BACKGROUND is reflected in her work. And as
she has been writing and performing for the last ten years, JJ knows a thing
or two about the music business.
Seven years ago this talented singer-songwriter — who cites mucial influences
throughout her life as Elton John, Tracy Chapman, Chris Rea, Willie Nelson,
Kenny Rogers and Shirley Bassey — established caravanmusicpromotions
and has been instrumental in encouraging many unknown artistes. Working with
solo artistes and bands at entry level in the industry, JJ is keen to get them
the media exposure they deserve.
Living in Wells, Somerset, she must surely benefit from being in such a spiritual
and inspirational part of the country, close to Glastonbury. JJ's own musical
accomplishments are many and she has recently released several singles —
from her Drift Into The Blue album — that particularly suit her
terrific voice and at the same time mark her out as a credible songwriter. The
beautiful Angel is sung by JJ with the gentleness demanded of the magnificent
words. This lovely track has won songwriting competitions throughout the world
and JJ hopes that Angel will now raise money for charities all over the
world.
When you experience the well constructed Stay, with its long, drawn-out
notes that are heavy with emotion, you discover a compelling track that echoes
with JJ's professionalism. The final track, Kneeling On Concrete, finds
JJ's voice taking on a powerful surge of controlled emotion. Whichever track
she is singing, JJ's sweet voice has a delivery of silky smoothness that exudes
melodic indulgence and charisma.
Playing guitar and bells, JJ's fine vocals meld perfectly with Neil Husky's
vocal and guitar work in this recipe of folk-laden, acoustic, popular music
