Few
new acts on the pop
scene in recent years
have managed to sound
established. So it is
refreshing when we can
say this is another new
voice that manages that
quite nicely, thank you...
IT IS NOT JUST THE SIXTIES'-
INFLUENCED SONG Come On Over that gives this impression. Shaun Anthony
is polished and professional and a joy to hear. His voice is clear, attractive
and full of energy while he seduces you with melodic, lilting notes.
Shaun is taking the R 'n' B scene by storm and is being heralded as "one to
watch for 2008". His credentials are impeccable: he has already sung a duet
with Lemar on his The Truth About Love tour and, on 4 February 2008,
is due to release the hot new track Come On Over on Pyramid Entertainment
a track, incidentally, that was penned by Lemar himself, who also just happens
to back this "angel-voiced" singer.
With a number of solo performances in venues up and down the UK under his belt,
Shaun has been interviewed by Ras Kwame for BBC Radio One and seen the remix
of his single Come On Over (featuring Lemar and Sway) become track of
the week on 1Xtra. Most recently, Shaun has been working with some of the UK's
finest writers, includ-
ing Craig Hardy (Blue, McFly), Jamie Hartman (Natalie Imbuglia, Will Young)
and Pete Devereux (Craig David , Artful Dodger).
Super-talented Shaun was discovered by legendary producer Darren Brown while
he was singing outside the infamous Vocal Tech in Acton. Blown away by Shaun's
soulful voice, Darren immediately signed him to Pyramid Entertainment and introduced
him to Lemar, who took Shaun under his wing and presented him to the public
on two major tours: Lemar Presents Shaun Anthony (Summer 2007) and later
Lemar's The Truth About Love tour on which Shaun performed alongside
Lemar on fan-favourite Let's Stay Together.
If that's not enough, Shaun Anthony's story is the stuff of dreams! Born to
English-Italian parents, he grew up in Ilford, Essex and wanted nothing else
but to be a singer. By his early teens he had already per-formed at The Theatre
Royal, Her Majesty's Theatre, and The London Palladium. He was cast in the Michael
Jackson Musical Thriller at the Dominion Theatre (London) in 2006 and
has since gone from strength to strength.
Shaun's musical influences range from Old School Soul, Gospel and Blues to Pop
and Country sounds from the last few decades sounds that he uses to full
effect while pulling in his own take on music. We weren't surprised to hear
that his tastes range from Sixties sounds such as the Beach Boys and The Monkees
and country singers such
as Brad Paisley and Garth Brooks through to Boyz II Men and Dru Hill. More contemporary
influences are Michael Buble and Robin Thicke, as well as UK artists such as
Craig David and (of course!) Lemar.
Shaun Anthony's Come On Over CD will
be released on 4 February, 2008 on Pyramid Entertainment.
Shaun is currently putting the finishing touches to his debut album entitled
Fragile which will be released later in 2008… DON'T MISS IT!
