EVER SINCE THE DAWN OF MAN, war has been part of history in the struggle for power. Clash Of The Titans is an epic story of Perseus (Sam Worthington: Avatar, Terminator Salvation), who as a baby was discovered out at sea, floating in a chest with his dead mother, by fisherman Spyros (Pete Postlethwaite).

Perseus, who in reality is the son of Zeus (Liam Neeson: Taken, Schindler's List), is adopted by Spyros and his wife Marmara (Elizabeth McGovern) and brought up with a younger sister born later to the couple.

The years pass and Perseus becomes a young man. While the family is out on Spyros' boat they witness a statue of Zeus being toppled by soldiers from Argus. Suddenly, strange creatures begin to attack the soldiers and god of the underworld Hades (Ralph Fiennes: the Harry Potter films; The Hurt Locker) sinks the fisherman's boat.

Spyros, Marmara and their daughter are drowned and Perseus only just manages to escape with his life. He is picked up by the one remaining boat and is taken with the surviving soldiers back to Argus and the arrogant King Acrisius (Jason Flemyng) and Queen Cassiopeia (Polly Walker).

But Perseus is viewed with suspicion and the people are beginning to turn against the gods, who need the beliefs and prayers of the faithful in order to maintain their strength. And Zeus is tricked into a deal with Hades that could have devastating consequences for the world.

With the beautiful Princess Andromeda (Alexa Davales) about to be sacrificed to the dreaded Kraken and the lovely Io (the delightful Gemma Arterton: Prince Of Persia; Quantum Of Solace) at his side, Perseus, who is by now aware that he is a demigod, volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to rid the world of Hades and return the power to Zeus, who is known for his love of mankind.

Can Perseus save Andromeda and defeat the Kraken and Hades; take on the might of the Minotaur, Medusa and giant scorpions; harness the power of the witches and enlist the help of the Djinn, who are known to have special powers? And will he finally realise that he will have to accept help from the gods in order to end the ultimate power struggle and to finally defeat the evil that threatens his world?
