DESPERATE TO LOSE TWO STONE and drop two dress sizes, Coleen Nolan worked out that the only way forward was to keep moving her goals and workout experience. Knowing what it is like to struggle with her weight, she designed a wonderful workout with top trainer and fitness expert Mikey Smith and the result is her excellent, first solo fitness DVD, Coleen Nolan's Disco Burn.

There are five heart-pumping sections to suit all ages and abilities and Coleen Nolan's Disco Burn begins with the all-important Disco Warm-Up (to prepare your body by increasing the heart rate gradually) and Cool Down. This is a low impact section and is easy to follow. It prepares the whole body and sets the posture. Relax and have some fun as you start Disco Burn.

The main section is Disco Aerobics. Have a good time as you learn dance moves — the more calories you burn helps decrease the excess body fat as well as increasing your fitness level and strengthening your heart. This DVD is suitable for all fitness levels and even the most inexperienced dancer. Coleen and Mikey will show you how.

There are two ten-minute sections of Disco Aerobics. The first is Lo Heat, low-impact aerobics where you can have cool disco moves while working on your body; the second ups the pace with Inferno — high intensity aerobics for faster fat burning. Build up your confidence gradually, and don't push yourself.

The next section is the Disco Tone Conditioning Burn with low impact exercises for upper and lower body conditioning, helping work off those stubborn areas where you need definition. Using a chair, Coleen and Mikey demonstrate how you can exercise in the office or when working from home to strengthen and tone the muscles and give your body a leaner and trimmer look. Using the chair is especially helpful if you suffer with lower back or limb problems. You can always add weights if you want to work harder on the exercises.

Then comes Disco tone Condition and Balance for overall body conditioning. Use a bottle of water, a tin of baked beans or weights for resistance. You will also be working on the lower body, the leg muscles and bottom, with plenty of squats and lunges as well as focusing on balance and posture.

The Disco Core Floor Moves are for abdominal and back toning and improved posture, as well as core stability focus. Don't forget that a good posture can make you appear slimmer. You also get to work out your tummy, back and rear on the mat. There are various options throughout and breathing tips to get the best out of the workout.

Finally, the Disco Cool Down will help you to gently relax and bring your heart rate down. You can also work on your flexibility and learn tension reduction techniques. It is an important part of the routine, but only stretch as far as is comfortable and don't push.

It is recommended that you do this routine around three times a week and combine it with the healthy eating plan (on the Extras section of the DVD) to dance your way into the body of your dreams.
