Grumpy
Greyhounds, belligerent
Bulldogs and demented Dobermans
hold no fear for The Dog Whisperer
Cesar Millan demonstrates his skill
at reaching an understanding with our
four-footed friends who just will not
behave for their frustrated owners...
CESAR MILLAN HAS ONE DREAM to share the knowledge with which
he was born with the rest of the world. He is The Dog Whisperer and is
out to show dogs (and their owners!) a thing or two.
From crazy Chihuahuas to rowdy Retrievers, Cesar Millan is the person who can
turn even the most aggressive, frightened, lazy, jealous, disturbed and difficult
dog into a loving and obedient friend. The key to his amazing success is often
the behaviour of the owners themselves.
Without any previous knowledge of the mini monster he is about to meet, Cesar
enters the homes of dog owners and documents the remarkable transformation that
takes place under his calm but firm guidance as he "rehabilitates dogs and trains
people".
Among his conquests is a former rescue West Highland White terrier called Percy,
who hated being touched on the rear quarters and became demented when the mail
arrived. Cesar showed owner Diane how to make Percy proud of himself and to
have more control over him by using a high leash.
Rescue dogs might suffer psychological problems but Cesar is there to correct
their behaviour. "Take your new dog for a long, one-hour plus, walk to connect
with the dog and to get to know each other," he advises.
Retriever-Chow cross Stewart is nervous, barks incessantly and is afraid of
children. She was adopted from the Pound and Cesar diagnosed a low self-esteem.
Bringing in his own children ten-year-old Andre and five-year-old Calvin
to introduce to the dog, Cesar showed Stewart that children are part
of the group.
Cesar also deals with neurotic Dalmatian Lucy; a yellow Labrador called Queen
Elizabeth Daisy and Boyfriend who was interfering with owner Anita's
romance. He also deals with the three-year-old Alfie, a Bulldog belonging to
actress and television host Daisy Fuentes and who has become over-protective
and snappy.
"Dog psychology," says Cesar, "is seeing the world from their point of view."
The Dog Whisperer With Cesar Millan makes fascinating watching and
who knows? you might just find that, with the benefit of Cesar Millan's
advice, your Desperate Dobermann is Docile after all!
