A
young boys
dreams of becoming
a courageous knight like his grandfather
seem dashed by his lawyer father who
wants him to follow in his footsteps in a
kingdom where it is illegal to become
a knight, but he sets off on a daring
quest in the animated fantasy Justin
and the Knights Of Valour...
DETERMINED TO BECOME A BRAVE KNIGHT and follow in the footsteps of his esteemed
grandfather Sir Roland, teenaged Justin (voice of Freddie Highmore) craves adventure
and is encouraged to follow his dream by his grandmother Lily (voice of Julie
Walters).
However, Justin's father Reginald (voice of Alfred Molina) is the kingdom's
top lawyer and his own dreams are for Justin to join him in his business. In
a kingdom where knights are outlawed, Justin has no choice but to run away to
the Tower of Wisdom where his grandfather learned how to be a
knight.
Justin
and the Knights
Of Valour is funny,
entertaining, visual and
creative; a thoroughly
enjoyable film for
everyone in the family.
This is what real humour
is all about!
Justin
is in love with Lara (voice of Tamsin Egerton), whose father is the wealthiest
man in the city, but although she encourages his adoration she is spoiled and
selfish and rejects him.
Justin's journey takes him to the Broken Journey Inn, once a hangout for knights,
where he meets a strange would-be wizard called Melquiades (voice of David Walliams),
a bizarre character with a split personality, and the lovely Talia (voice of
Saoirse Ronan), who works at the inn and takes a shine to Justin. He also meets
the handsome and vain Sir Clorex (voice of Antonio Banderas).
Finally reaching the tower, to be trained under Iegantir (voice of Charles Dance)
and his knights Sir Blucher (voice of James Cosmo) and Sir Braulio (voice of
Barry Humphries), Justin begins to be tried and tested before being pitted against
the 'croco-dragon'as he attempts to join the ranks of the Knights of
Valour, learning their ancient ways.
With his hard-earned skills, Justin is soon to be tested in combat as a banished
knight, Sir Heraclio (voice of Mark Strong), is returning to the kingdom with
the intention of totally destroying it if the Queen (voice of Olivia Williams)
and her subjects do not bend to his will.
Justin and the Knights Of Valour is funny, entertaining, visual and creative;
a thoroughly enjoyable film for everyone in the family. This is what real humour
is all about. With superb characterisation, the film benefits from the all-star
cast voicing the characters, including a wonderfully camp Sota, voiced by Rupert
Everett, who is Heraclio's aide.
The film is all about being yourself and doing the right thing.
