a twist the extravaganza and lightning-
paced action of the first with Now You
See Me 2... IN THE FIRST OF THE ILLUSIONISTS' ADVENTURES, the four hugely-talented

seen to have robbed a Paris bank from a stage in Las Vegas and to have fleeced
an insurance magnate out of millions of dollars before outwitting the FBI and
vanishing.
Having disappeared for a whole year, J Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt
McKinney (Woody Harrelson) and Jack Wilder (Dave Franco) but minus Henley
Reeves (Isla Fisher) are being pulled back into the limelight and forced
into another corner.
The
sparkling, eye-

a new height
Great Fun!
Mystery
man Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman) is serving time in prison, put there by
FBI agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) who believes that Thaddeus was responsible
for the death of his father, escapologist Lionel Strike (Richard Laing).
Thaddeus has always maintained that the Four Horsemen would re-emerge and promised
that when they did come back they would get what's coming to them. But when
Atlas, Merritt, Jack and new girl Lula (Lizzy Caplan) do make an appearance
at the launch of Octa, a company run by an unethical tech magnate, the FBI raid
the building and Dylan's link to the four becomes known.
Using one of their well-planned escape techniques, the Four Horsemen find that
instead of getting safely away they end up in a dangerous situation in Macau,
China, where they are given no choice other than to clear their names by pulling
off the most impossible heist yet.
With no recollection of how they got from the USA to China, the four are faced
with Merritt's twin brother Chase (Woody Harrelson & Brick Patrick) and tech
prodigy Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe), who lost a great deal of money when
the magicians hijacked the ill-gotten gains of Arthur Tressler (Michael Caine).
Mabry demands that the Four Horsemen steal a powerful chip that will enable
him to gain access to every computer on the planet.
To get everything they need, Walter sends them to Iongs, the oldest magic shop
in the world, run by the mysterious Li (Jay Chou) and his grandmother Bu Bu
(Tsai Chin). Once suitably kitted out, so begins the elaborate plan to steal
the chip and escape the past. Nobody should ever underestimate the Horsemen…
The sparkling, eye-deceiving stunts pulled by the Four Horsemen get even better
in this creditable, highly-enjoyable romp with magic as Now You See Me 2
and takes special effects to a new height. Great fun!
The movie has taken some knocks and it is a bit of a slow starter as it sets
the scene, but its twists and turns and fantastic visuals keep your eyes on
the screen. "The eye. It may not lie but don't think for a moment it can't be
lied to," says Thaddeus. Blink and you'll definitely miss the switch.
