Bond
is back and hes
taking no
prisoners in the latest 007 adventure
to blast onto DVD and Blu-ray disc.
Starring Daniel Craig as the fearless
British agent, Quantum Of Solace
follows some of the traditional Bond
films but brings the genre bang up
to date...
PLAYING A FREE-FALLING, GUNG-HO JAMES BOND, Daniel Craig acquits himself
well as Agent 007 in the multi-million global box office smash Quantum Of
Solace, that debuts on DVD and Blu-ray disc throughout the UK on 23 March,
courtesy of MGM and Fox Home Entertainment.
Quantum Of Solace opens with a car chase between Bond in his Aston Martin
and an ill-fated Alfa Romeo before switching to the beautiful city of Siena,
Italy, where M (Judi Dench) and Bond question White (Jesper Christensen) about
the criminal organisation known as Quantum, little realising that one of their
number is a traitor.
Picking up where Casino Royale left off, Quantum Of Solace finds
James Bond adrift from MI6. Apparently betrayed by the woman he loved, he is
hot on the trail of those responsible for her death and out for justice
leaving bodies in his wake and stopping at nothing to try to extract the information
he needs.
Who is a friend and who is an enemy? James Bond is suspicious of everybody
even the beautiful Camille (Olga Kurylenko) he meets in Port-au-Prince, who
is seeking her own brand of vengeance and who harbours an appalling secret.
Using her former lover ruthless businessman Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric)
to get to the South American General who so wronged her, Camille discovers
that Greene wants her dead.
Greene claims to be an environmentalist, but he is using his wealth and power
to help the General take over a South American government in exchange for an
area of supposedly-worthless desert. What is it about this piece of land that
Greene is so desperate to gain control of? And how does he connect with Quantum?
Bond discovers that Greene is involved in a conspiracy to take control of one
of the world's most important resources; but he must navigate this minefield
of treachery, deception and murder in order to neutralise Quantum before it's
too late.
With the exasperated words of M ringing in his ears: "If you could avoid killing
every possible lead it would be deeply appreciated!", 007 is determined that
nothing will sway him from his single-minded mission to mete out justice and
to put a stop to Greene's criminal activities.
Bond teams up with Camille and his friend René Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini)
taking time out to seduce the delightful agent Strawberry Fields (Gemma
Arterton), who meets a very sticky end as they face certain death in
this high-octane action film that follows the adventures of the world's most
famous secret agent.
Quantum Of Solace is thrill after thrill of fast-paced derring-do, riding
high on the back of a line of wonderfully successful films featuring Ian Fleming's
valiant and charismatic hero. The action takes place across the globe from Siena,
Italy, with a race to the death across the rooftops; through to Austria and
Haiti, where a stunningly visual boat-chase in a crowded harbour gives plenty
of opportunities for memorable stunts. The lead-up to the finale ensures that
Quantum Of Solace is remembered for its blaze of glory a particularly
nail-biting scene that will leave you breathless.
A worldwide box office phenomenon, Quantum of Solace has broken countless
records, including the biggest Friday opening of all time in the UK, and scored
among the top twenty film openings of all time in 67 international territories.
Bond… James Bond remains one of the world's largest and most successful film
franchises with 22 films to date.
