An
attractive professional killer with
a love of opera decides to retire to spend
more time with her much-loved young
daughter, but she is persuaded to take
on a final and challenging hit in the
Swiss Alps targeting a British baritone
at a prestigious operatic festival...
DETERMINED TO EXTRICATE HERSELF from the hit-team she works for in order
to spend more time with her daughter (Clara Ruscon), the seductive Lucrèce (Mélanie
Laurent: Inglorious Basterds; Beginners) is forced to take on an extremely
difficult contract in Switzerland at the highly prestigious Festival D'Ermeux
where she is undercover as Anna Krups, a Suprano.
Her manager, L'Arménian (Tcheky Karyo: Special Forces), has agreed an
assignment to eliminate British Baritone Alexander Child (Christopher Stills),
for the head of a British oil firm that can make a financial killing by using
the land on which Child is renovating an old distillery for a strategic pipeline
project.
A sophisticated
assassination thriller
snapping with high heels
and nail-biting
tension until the bitter
end...
Lucrèce,
a trained opera singer, is to appear on stage with Alexander; but after a couple
of abortive attempts to poison him, Lucrèce's contract is cancelled, a percussionist
falls into the orchestra pit and a gardener is shot.
Another hit man is sent to Switzerland by her team's client to complete the
contract and she becomes aware that he is there not only to kill Alexander but
also Lucrèce herself. But where is the danger from?
As the rehearsals begin for Handel's Messiah, French counter-intelligence
has learned of the hit and a former agent is blackmailed into infiltrating the
orchestra to unmask and terminate the would-be assassin.
The enigmatic guitarist Rico (Clovis Cornillac: A Very Long Engagement; Asterix
At The Olympic Games) is clearly not what he seems; but could the killer
be Festival Director Xavier De Ferriers, the gardener, replacement percussionist
Katarina or newly-arrived Contralto Olga Babayova (Julie Fuchs)?
Against a backdrop of glorious music that includes Handel's sublime Mass,
a tense and thrilling game is played out as both hunter and hunted try to stay
one step ahead long enough to save their lives.
