Consistently
maintaining the shocks
and fast-paced action of the fantastic
and hugely successful Resident Evil
series comes the fifth instalment, Resident Evil: Retribution continuing
the seemingly-impossible fight against
the undead for Mans survival...
THE
HUMAN RACE IS UNDER ATTACK from a legion of mutant zombies created by the accidental
outbreak of a virus from The Hive, an experimental viral weaponry facility under
The Umbrella Corporation, where a computer given the name The Red Queen (Megan
Carpenter; voiced by Ave Merson O'Brian), created to contain the deadly T-virus,
has gone terrifyingly wrong.
The T-virus brought the dead back to life and some mutated into horrific and
virtually unstoppable monsters. Together they proceeded to take over the Earth
by turning humans into the undead and wreaking an unremitting devastation across
the globe.
Resident
Evil:
Retribution pulls out all
the stops to create
incredible and heart-
stopping action as
part of a superb series
that are
the best zombie
movies ever...
Man's
last hope is Alice (the terrific Milla Jovovich: Resident Evil series),
who has been infected by the virus but has bonded with it on a cellular level,
giving her extraordinary powers.
Captured unconscious by The Umbrella Corporation, she comes round in the heart
of the Corporation's most secret operations, an underground facility in Kamchatka
in Russia. Or is it? Not everything is as it appears and at all costs she must
escape to continue her fight against the evil.
Revealing a little more about her past as she is given the means to free herself
by an unseen hand, she finds herself face to face with her former friend Jill
Valentine (Sienna Guillory: The Wicked Within), whose mind has been taken
over by the enemy; then agent Ada Wong (Li Bingbing), who has yet to prove where
her loyalty lies, and old adversary Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts), who may or
not have changed allegiances.
Meanwhile, as the undead leave a trail of bloodied bodies in their wake, a young
girl named Becky (Aryana Engineer) sees her father fall into the hands of the
undead before she is hidden by her mother, who bears a striking resemblance
to Alice.
Without a safe haven, Alice has continued to hunt those responsible for the
outbreak from Tokyo to New York, Washington DC and Moscow. She runs frantically
through corridors to try to escape from the facility, ice cool and alert, finding
herself in strange surroundings filled with the mutants and the undead…
Alice's friends, including Luther West (Boris Kodjoe: Surrogates) and
Leon S Kennedy (Johann Urb) have broken into the facility, but this strike team
has only two hours to get Alice to the safety of a submarine. The artificial
intelligence known as The Red Queen has detected their presence and will stop
at nothing to prevent Alice getting to the surface.
Against seemingly-impossible odds, can Alice and her friends escape unharmed
and will Alice be able to rescue Becky, who has been kidnapped by one of the
most powerful mutants? Alice has been forced to rethink everything that she
once thought to be true and she must now fight to survive long enough to escape
a hostile world on the brink of oblivion.
The human race faces extinction and only Alice stands between that and the undead
as the Umbrella Corporation continues to control the population by transforming
humans into the undead. Resident Evil: Retribution pulls out all the stops to
create incredible and heart-stopping action as part of a superb series that
are the best zombie movies ever.
The film also stars Michelle Rodriguez (Battle Los Angeles) as Rain and
Kevin Durand (Television's Lost) as Barry Burton, and also features Robin
Kasyanov as Sergei; Ofilio Portillo as Tony; Oded Fehr as Todd/Carlos; Colin
Salmon as James "One" Shade as well as featuring the popular game characters
