Experienced, quick-witted and perceptive, Maya is frustrated with her inability to achieve the position she deserves because she lacks a college degree, despite being more than capable of coming up with new ideas and directions. At her birthday party, she makes a wish as she blows out the candle: "I wish we lived in a world where street smart beats book smart".

Her friend Joan (Lea Remini: The King of Queens; Kevin Can Wait) is sympathetic and at work the next day she throws light on the surprise interview that Maya has been offered with Anderson Clarke (Treat Williams) of cosmetics company Franklin & Clarke.

Joan's tech-savvy son has created a Facebook page for Maya with a fake resumé, suggesting that Maya is a Harvard undergraduate who has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and served with the Peace Corps!

Having been offered a job, she is at last given the opportunity to prove herself and goes up against Zoe (Vanessa Hudgens: The Princess Switch; High School Musical franchise), Anderson's determined daughter when she declares that the products they produce are not truly organic.

Maya is not only able to show that she can succeed without a college degree but also that it is never too late for a Second Act. In following her dreams she has a few surprises and some hilarious moments when she is expected to demonstrate some of her non-existent skills.

This empowering and heartfelt romantic comedy sees Maya rise to her career aspirations, proving to Madison Avenue that the street-wise are able to realise their full potential. In reaching for her dream, Maya finds unexpected happiness along the way.
