The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

The Sorcerer's Apprentice“Cleverly based on a story inspired

by Disney’s Mickey Mouse version

of The Sorcerers Apprentice (from
  Fantasia), the 2010 action adventure
film starring Nicolas Cage is billed
  as this year
s ultimate family fantasy
movie and delves into the realms of
  the Arthurian legend
...

THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE benefits from the casting of the ever-dependable Nicolas Cage as the centuries-old master sorcerer Balthazar Blake, a trusted follower of Merlin, and Jay Baruchel as a rather special modern-day American teen David Stutler two main characters whose lives become inextricably linked.

Add in the skills of Alfred Molina as Balthazar's arch-nemesis Maxim Horvath, Alice Krige as Morgana Le Fay and Monica Bellucci as Veronica, backed up by a talented cast of support actors and crew and there is no doubt that The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a terrific fantasy creation that cleverly works its magic in present-day Manhattan.

Young David Stutler (played as a schoolboy by Jake Cherry) is crazy about Becky Barnes (played as a schoolgirl by Peyton List; as an older teenager by Teresa Palmer). He passes her a note which is whisked away across Manhattan. And when he finally catches up with it, the note is sucked into a strange shop called Arcana Cabana, run by the mysterious Balthazar.

Balthazar has been searching for centuries for The Young Merlinian, the only one who can help him protect Manhattan and the rest of the world from the malevolence of Morgana and the wicked Horvath. Horvath seeks to release Morgana from the place where she has been imprisoned by Balthazar and his love Veronica, who sacrificed herself hundreds of years before to trap Morgana in the Grimhold, a Russian-style doll.

Balthazar has lived his life alone since the death of Merlin and the loss of his love. Believing he has at last found the one he has been tirelessly seeking, he tells this apparently average guy he must join him as his apprentice and protégé. But the path forward is far from smooth and and Balthazar himself is thrwarted by his enemies. It is going to take time to convince David he is the right person for the job.

As Balthazar finally gives the reluctant David a crash course in the art of science and magic, the apprentice demonstrates a hidden potential that he had never suspected. This superb comedy action adventure sees sorcerer and apprentice as two unlikely partners working together against the forces of darkness, swept into the centre of an ancient conflict between good and evil.

David will have to muster every ounce of courage to survive his training, save the city and get the girl, as he strives to become The Sorcerer's Apprentice. But will Morgana and Horvath have a trick or two up their sleeves? And will Balthazar be reunited with the lovely Veronica? The sparks are about to fly.

This breathtaking quest brings together the indisputable talents of Nicolas Cage, Alfred Molina and Jay Baruchel to create a fabulous mix of family fun and rip-roaring action adventure extravaganza in stunning high definition.
