An
epic coming-of-age adventure
animation movie for all the family tells
the legendary tale of Bigfoot as you
have never seen it before from the
perspective of a young teenager
whose scientist father disappeared
while working on a secret project
and is presumed dead, but when he
discovers his father is still alive he
learns that he is The Son of Bigfoot...
LED TO BELIEVE HIS FATHER HAS DIED, thirteen-year-old Adam (voice of Pappy
Faulkner) mourns his loss and is close to his mother Shelly (voice of Marieve
Herington).
Something of an outsider, he is picked on at school by bullies when he
comes home with chewing gum in his hair his mother cuts it out. However, Adam
is shocked to find that his hair grows back again overnight… and suddenly his
feet start growing too!
A
clever,
sophisticated
animation
movie that mixes
comedy
and drama well,
The Son Of Bigfoot
is incredibly funny,
cute,
touching and highly
watchable...
When
he stands up to the bullies Adam is suspended from school, with Principal Jones
(voice of Joey Camen) describings him as "mid-level acquaintance deficiency"
in other words, no friends. Adam is also blamed for being in front of
the bullies and told that "a fist can't punch without a face to receive it".
No sympathy there, then!
This
results in a terrific chase by the bullies in a children's recreation area,
through hazardous swings and climbing frames but eventually Adam escapes and
heads for home.
While there on his own he discovers a box hidden in the central heating duct,
filled with letters from his father and, as there are some that have been written
recently, Adam confronts his mother, who tells him she only told him his father
was no longer alive in order to protect him; but a distressed Adam runs away
to the area his father had sent the letters from the forest.
Once there Adam has an accident and the scientist has to save him, which is
when he discovers that his father is none other than Bigfoot (voice of Christopher
L Parson).
In the forest Adam bonds with his father and discovers that his father has superpowers,
including being able to talk with the birds and animals. Before long, Adam realises
that he, too, has similar gifts.
Unfortunately for his father, he has been seen by a truck driver who recorded
him on a dash-cam as he raced to save Adam; and Adam has been tracked to the
forest by henchmen from the research and development lab at HairCo, the giant
corporation trying to bring his father back to be an experimental "lab rat"
and extract the secret of his luxuriant hair growth and use the results to develop
a money-making cure for bald people.
To make matters worse, the owner of HairCo has kidnapped Adam's mother Shelly
and things look bleak as he and his men are closing in on Bigfoot…
